This page lists some of the most important new features introduced in Saxon 9.1.
The following apply to Saxon-SA only:
Streaming extensions: more streaming capabilities in XSLT, and addition of streaming capabilities to XQuery.
XQuery Updates: Saxon now implements the (draft) XQuery Updates specification.
XML Schema 1.1 support: Saxon 9.1 implements many of the more significant features from the draft XML Schema 1.1 specifications,
including Assertions, Conditional Type Assignment (co-occurrence constraints), and xs:all
groups with flexible occurrence limits.
Schema implementation now uses counters
In Saxon-B, the most significant feature is probably support for the latest (almost-final) draft of the XQJ specifications (Java API for XQuery).
