Details
This function takes as input an xs:string
, and returns a sequence
of strings, each containing exactly one character.
For example, the call saxon:characters("hello")
returns the sequence
("h", "e", "l", "l", "o")
.
If the first argument is a zero-length string, the function returns an empty sequence.
